Airline Passenger With First Class Ticket Says She Was Bumped for Congre...

Passenger Jean-Marie Simon a teacher, who booked a first class ticket from Houston, TX to Washington, D.C. on United Airlines was told that she was not in the computer system and that she was wiped out of the system when Simon showed her first class ticket. Simon was told that she had to give up her seat to Congresswoman Sheila Jackson. Simon was telling her side of the story and told the Congresswoman that she wanted her seat back. Simon booked her ticket in advanced and she should not have had to move to another seat. The Congresswoman claimed that it was not her fault what happened and said that the only reason that Simon was upset because she didn't like the Congresswoman because the Congresswoman is an African American woman. This is so far from the truth. Anyone who pay for a first class seat no matter who they are or what airlines that he or she are flying with they should be able to sit in their seat that they paid their ticket or tickets for. The teacher should be compensated big time for what she went through. If anything the Congresswoman was showed favoritism because she was a Congresswoman and the teacher was told to give up her seat because the teacher was not considered as important. No one should feel like they are less of importance and that's how the teacher was discriminated against IMO. My 2 Cents.
